Vidyalaya Bondamunda was established on 04th
Dec 1987 to cater to the needs of the employees
of Indian Railways at Bondamunda.The school
is sponsored by Indian Railways represented
by DRM Chakradharpur. Initially the school,
which was up to Class V, functioned in temporary
buildings allotted by the sponsoring agency.
Gradually the school expanded up to Class
XII with the Science Stream. The first batch
of the students appeared in AISSCE in the
year 2000.
The
school, which was a single section one,
has grown up to a three-section school.
At present the school has its own permanent
building in a sprawling campus of 13.77
acres ( leased for 99 years) in the railway
colony of Bondamunda in the eastern outskirt
of the steel city of Rourkela. At present,
the infrastructure is under further development
with the construction of the additional
accommodation, playgrounds, assembly ground
and staff quarters. By the end of the session,
the school will have facilities for games
like football, volleyball, hockey, kho-kho,
kabaddi,
The
school has well equipped science and computer
laboratories and a rich library. The entire
atmosphere is calm and quiet and conducive
for the all round growth of the child. |
